CONTROLS AND SENSORS
BCS Part Number BCS-1000
The wall mounted interface is installed outside of the cellar, generally next to the cellar door. It displays current cellar conditions and allows the user to adjust desired temperature and humidity setpoints.
One temperature and one humidity sensor communicate to the equipment when there is a need to cool or humidify the room.
All the necessary control logic is pre-installed and native to the evaporator in a compact, but serviceable enclosure. Temperature/Humidity Control boards are located within the evaporators in our 1000/1500 ceiling mount or ducted versions, and in the master controller as part of our 2000/3000 dual evaporator versions.
Bacchus supplies the most accurate and responsive controls for the fine wine cellar. Our system controls both temperature and humidity. Temperature is controlled by opening and closing the refrigerant solenoid within the evaporators and opening and closing the condensing unit low pressure control – all systems are pump down. If temperature is lower than set point, a 1000W heater, which produces close to 1400 BTU will engage to raise temperature.
*Depicted below is a double evaporator refrigerant line / electrical dual evaporator configuration.
When there is a call for humidity, a misting valve sprays water in the air stream. If there is a call to dehumidify, the system runs in cooling mode with a heater on. This allows the system to remove humidity, but not overcool. The expansion valves are pre-set. The system is set up for 6 air defrosts a day to keep the coil clear of ice. Two floats protect the system from high water levels. The primary float stops the misting valve from running if the pump can’t keep up. The secondary float cuts off all power in case of pump failure.
